Rhys Robinson
Norfolk Rise Vineyard Viticulturist
Rhys Robinson joined Kreglinger Wine Estates and Norfolk Rise Vineyard in 2004 as the viticulturist and vineyard manager. Having been established in 2000 the vineyard was still in its infancy when Rhys joined, and since this time he has overseen a significant expansion of the vineyard which has been key to the growth of the Norfolk Rise brand.
Rhys graduated from Adelaide University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science. Majoring in Botany and Entomology, his introduction to the wine industry came whilst he was still studying through working vintages in the Coonawarra. After spending a vintage working in a winery lab, Rhys realised that being confined indoors wasn’t for him. Following this he began working as a casual vineyard hand for Southcorp in the Coonawarra. Within 6 months Rhys had moved into a technical role, where he began monitoring and running trials for the company. Rhys then transferred to Robe as a technical supervisor for Southcorp, after 3 years in this position he then moved to Tumbarumba as a manager with Southcorp.
Being away from family and the lure of the ocean, brought Rhys back to Robe and it was at this time that he joined Norfolk Rise Vineyard. When he is not in the vineyard, Rhys is kept busy with his young family, he also enjoys surfing and playing football in his downtime. During his time with the company, Rhys has seen the production of the vineyard double and the Norfolk Rise Vineyard label is now produced from 100% estate grown fruit.
