About Us.
Kreglinger Wine Estates
Since its foundation in 1797, Kreglinger Wine Estates has been delicately crafting fine wine, spreading its vines from Antwerp to Tasmania. The legacy of George and Christian Kreglinger began in Belgium; two brothers who dared to dream and began a family company which still holds trade registration number one in Antwerp to this day. In 1893, the family's group of companies extended to Australia, establishing Kreglinger Australia.
In 2000, Kreglinger diversified into wine production with the acquisition of the majority ownership of Pipers Brook Vineyard. From our vineyards in the pristine region of Pipers River and the banks of kanamaluka/the Tamar River, Kreglinger has dedicated itself to being at the forefront of the Tasmanian wine industry.
Pipers Brook Vineyard
Established in 1974 and nestled in the heart of Tasmanian wine country, Pipers Brook Vineyard in the beautiful Tamar Valley is one of the pioneering vineyards of the Tasmanian wine industry. We remain proudly Tasmanian owned by the Launceston based de Moor family, combining the European heritage of the Kreglinger name with our Tasmanian story, deeply rooted in beautiful Pipers River.
Here, on sites that were sought out for terroir similar to some of the most premium wine regions in France, the combination of rich volcanic soils, unique geography, temperate climate and proximity to the Bass Strait allows us to capture the purity of Tasmania in each of our estate grown wines.
Today we proudly continue to honour the rich history of Pipers Brook Vineyard, crafting Pipers Brook Estate, Kreglinger Sparkling, Ninth Island and Pipers Tasmania wines. Our wine is led by terroir, it speaks for us by showcasing unmistakeable regionality, pioneering vineyard sites and impressive vine age.
From 1974 to present day, the story of our cool climate and rich history can be found in our current vintages, available here.
