Australia's Best Sparkling Rose

We are so honored to share with you that our Kreglinger Brut Rosé 2017 was awarded Australia's Best Sparkling Rose, at the annual Halliday Wine Companion awards on August 3rd 2022.
These prestigious awards are delivered by some of the most trusted wine reviewers in the country. The Halliday Wine Companion team of 8 judges tasted over 8000 wines to come to a shortlist of their top varietals which were then blind tasted back to back over three days. And as a result of this process, we're beyond thrilled to see our Kreglinger Brut Rose 2017 recognized as the best in the country for the Sparkling Rose category.

The wine comes from a single site in Pipers River, dedicated solely to our Kreglinger sparkling for the consistently pristine fruit we grow there. The hand picked grapes for vintage 2017 were very gently whole bunch pressed with only the very finest of the juice taken for 100% barrel fermentation in aged French oak. It was matured for 9 months in barrel as the wine underwent malolactic fermentation to create exceptional texture and creaminess. Only the best barrels were then selected to create the final blend, followed by secondary fermentation in bottle and aged on lees for 44 months. The result?

"The pinot noir of the old vines of the Kreglinger vineyard has always been something to behold, and never has it looked more precise nor more graceful than this. Delectable red cherry and wild-strawberry fruit seduces from the outset, graced with the signature Turkish delight of Pipers River, but it's the creamy, silky texture of barrel and lees work that really sets apart this sublime creation."
